The fifth grade program includes drug abuse resistance education (D.A.R.E.) in cooperation with area law enforcement agencies. Police officers from local jurisdictions present a series of lessons over nine weeks which are designed to help students be better informed about drugs and to develop their skills in resisting pressures to use them. An important aspect of the program is the formation of a positive relationship among students and law enforcement officers.
