Music instruction at Spoede Elementary involves a variety of methods, teaching to all learning styles. The curriculum develops musical concepts such as form, harmony, musical expression, music history, music reading, and rhythm. The curriculum is taught using an eclectic approach of methods such as Orff, Dalcroze, Kodaly, and traditional approaches to music education. MUSIC CLASS EXPECTATIONS
Spoede's students have music for one hour per week in two 30 minute sessions. The rules for the classroom are as follows:
Enter and exit the music room quietly.
Follow directions.
Keep hands and feet to yourself.
Always do your best.
Give positive comments.
Speak one at a time.
By following these simple rules we can create a positive atmosphere where everyone can learn.
