About Me:

I was a counselor at a private, alternative school for nine years prior to coming to Spoede.  I have extensive experience addressing students' social and emotional needs in order to maximize their academic potential.  I love being at Spoede where I can impact more students and work more proactively.

Counseling and Guidance:

Consistent with the Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program,

students will participate in classroom guidance sessions, specialty

groups of interest and individual consultation to internalize the following:  understanding self as an individual and as a member of diverse local and global communities; interacting with others in ways that respect individual and group differences; applying personal safety skills and coping strategies; applying skills needed for educational achievement; understanding self as a valuable, unique entity with great capabilities and interests; and how to contribute to a positive school environment by embracing the attributes of respect, ownership, cooperation, kindness and safety.
