All About Ms. Lieberman
Hi! My name is Stephanie Lieberman and I am delighted to be the school counseling intern at Conway this year. As a former Conway student and Ladue graduate, it is exciting to be returning to the familiar hallways and working alongside some of my teachers. This position also allows me to work alongside Amy Grunwaldt, who is already helping me to learn what it means to be a school counselor. I am very fortunate to have this opportunity to reconnect with the Conway community and to give back to the school that provided a solid foundation for my own education.
After graduating from Ladue in 2005, I continued on to earn a BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During these years I was fortunate to connect with Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana, Illinois and participated as an intern both in their residential cottage and their school. These experiences showed me that working with children is impactful and rewarding, and something I enjoy very much. After graduation, I worked as a full-time paraprofessional in a special education classroom at a public elementary school in Champaign, Illinois. This position helped me to learn much about special education and also to experience being a member of a school team. I realized that schools have such potential for shaping childrens' lives, and that if I want to do my part in making the world a better place, then a school is the place for me.
With these positive experiences propelling me forward, I decided to become a school counselor. I am currently in my last year at the University of Missouri-St. Louis earning my Master's in Education in Counseling. It is my goal to become an elementary school counselor, and I couldn't be more excited.
In my free time, I enjoy running and hiking, and spending time with friends and family. I also love cooking and baking. I am looking forward to getting to know each of the Conway students and having a fantastic year!
