Art - Mr. Nathan Bursac

Art StudentsArt is an adventure into one's imagination. The art program at Conway School encourages creativity and self-discovery. Learning in art is a continuous process as children grow in skills of perception and production. Individual skills are stressed as the need becomes evident. Skill building lessons are essential and an integral part of the art program because they are the necessary prelude to creative expression in which children learn techniques that will improve their visual communication.

Our art program provides students the opportunity to experience a wide variety of two and three-dimensional media as they are introduced to drawing, painting, sculpture, weaving, printmaking, ceramics, pottery, and crafts. Lessons integrate art history and art appreciation.

Technology and computers are an integral part of the art program at Conway. Students use an Amiga computer for enhancing graphics and animation effects. A unique and flexible camera is used to demonstrate techniques in art classes and other classrooms throughout the building. This close-up video camera provides magnification of objects and allows all students to see demonstrations and small objects clearly.
