We had a wonderful afternoon on Friday celebrating our final PBIS-SOAR event with kickball, frozen juice bars, and noisemakers.  Students raised over 2000 SOAR awards for positive behavior and character to earn the event for the school.  It culminated with the presentation of our Missouri School of Character banner!

CEP state schools of character programs

Old Bonhomme has been named a Missouri State Schools of Character by the Character Education Partnership.  These schools have demonstrated that their focus on character development has had a positive impact on academic achievement, student behavior and school climate. “We are extremelyproud of the local schools that have achieved this honor,” said Liz Gibbons, director of CHARACTERplus.  “The staffs in these schools have created a positive environment in which students feel safe and connected to adults and each other.  These schools are truly able to focus on learning and academic achievement thanks to the cultures they have created.”
